Whether you are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or any other concerns, you deserve a therapist who will be open and supportive yet willing to challenge you gently when needed.  With an approach that combines connection and boundaries, we can work together to help you find the agency you need to move through life with pleasure.

Hi, I’m Heather, the Owner of Mindful Inquiry Therapy LLC, an intersectional, pleasure focused and trauma informed private practice in Portland Oregon. I specialize in working with BIPOC, LGTBQIA, Polyamory/Non-Monogamous, and Kink/BDSM communities to provide comprehensive, evidence based, trauma informed, sex positive therapy, that meets the needs of sexual marginalized populations.

I want to understand your personal context, within larger systems and communities; at the intersections of your social identity. I use therapy techniques including Mindfulness, Contextual and Attachment-Based strategies, provide you with a culturally competent space to process and reflect, to gain knowledge of attachment patterns and focus for self-agency

Agency

We are all agents of change and as such we move through life with the ability to learn and adapt to the world around us though often there are barriers to being able to move with freedom. Understanding our barriers (internal and external) are key to helping us move towards pleasure as agents of change, rather than avoiding pain and focusing our agency on what brings us meaning and joy.

Pleasure & Abundance

Knowing what is pleasurable to us helps us find direction for our goals and reminds us of the joys we can experience. The more of these moments we create the more abundant our joy becomes.
